Recreation

Exciting recreational, educational and artistic opportunities abound near Potomac Falls. One of our greatest treasures is the C&O National Park, which borders the Potomac Falls neighborhood and whose visitor’s center and Great Falls overlook are only a mile away. While thousands of visitors drive to the park from all across the region, it is literally in our backyard.  Try the trail from Sidey Lake, walk or bike on the canal towpath, or hike one of the Billy Goat Trails, and see abundant wildlife and beauty only moments from your front door.

Some of the region’s premier country clubs are very close and are just a few of the many choices for outstanding golf, tennis, swimming and more.
The Montgomery County Public Golf Course on Falls Road is a 5-minute drive from Potomac Falls. Potomac Swim and Tennis Club is a short distance away on Oaklyn Drive.

Cabin John Regional Park features a year-round ice skating facility, ball fields, tennis courts, public picnic grounds, hiking trails, and an elaborate playground. A miniature train carries visitors of all ages on a 10-minute tour of the park.

Potomac Community Center offers classes, after-school activities, a meeting center, and crafts festivals throughout the year. Potomac Library is a branch of the Montgomery Country Public Library system.

Glenstone is a private contemporary art museum located off of Glen Road in Potomac. It contains about 1,300 works in many mediums from post-World War II artists around the world and is noted as a place that seamlessly integrates art, architecture, and landscape into a serene and contemplative environment.
